Michael Jackson’s son Bigi ‘Blanket’, 21, looks ‘handsome’ and ‘exactly’ like dad, fans say
He was often called Blanket because his dad would wrap him in a blanket to keep his identity safe from the curious paparazzi and public.
Now that he’s older, the young man still keeps his identity out of the spotlight, unlike his two siblings.
His sister Paris is a singer-songwriter, model and actor, with credits in TV series like American Horror Stories and Sex Appeal, while Prince – a business administration grad – is an actor, producer, co-founder of Heal Los Angeles that aims to help underserved communities, and he runs his own YouTube channel that sometimes features clips with his brother.
Bigi, who was seven years old when his father died from cardiac arrest triggered by a fatal combination of drugs given to him by his doctor, is an advocate for a healthy global climate.
Speaking on his passion for environmentalism, Bigi said, “That’s what each of us [siblings] want to do, make things that people enjoy but also benefit their lives.” He continued, “I do think it’s important that we all know about it. I think we have some work to do but our generation knows how important it is.”
And now, as young man, he shares some similar features with his late popstar dad.
Recently, Bigi and Prince, whom People reports are “best friends,” were spotted chatting with guests at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The brothers were celebrating their late father’s birthday at the “Michael Jackson ONE” show by Cirque du Soleil. Paris, who was touring with the 90’s rock band Incubus, was not with her siblings.
Prince, who frequently engages fans, was wearing dark denim jeans and a gray top paired with sneakers and a baseball cap that covered his long braided hair.
Bigi was wearing all black, his long raven hair tucked behind his ears.
The two were captured in photos with their father’s fans, some whom were dressed head to toe in Michael Jackson swag.
Responding to various photos on social media, cyber fans gushed over popstar’s grown children.
“He’s very handsome,” writes one fan while another says, “Exactly like his father Michael Jackson King.” A third chimes in with “More and more like Michael.”
Another shares, “When I see Bigi smile my heart just melts, when I see him smile he made my day, I don’t know why but I adore this beautiful guy, I grew up with his father’s music, my heart and soul belongs to Michael so when I see his kids happy I am happy too, they deserve all the love and the best.”
And if you’re hoping to see Bigi glide across the dance floor into a moonwalk, or belt out some powerful vocals, it’ll likely never happen.
The young man revealed, “Sometimes I would go in his [my dad’s] room while he was getting ready for something and watch,” Bigi recalled. “He was a good dancer, he was a very good dancer. I can’t dance or sing… I’m not that kind of person who sings and dances…I want to be a director because it’s fun, and I make little movies when I’m at my house with cousins and friends and different things.”
He added, “He [dad] said it would be a good thing so follow whatever you want to do.”
