Six New York boys put up with their classmates’ crude humor and mockery
The only way to make this world better is to teach our children sympathy. When we care for one another, everything seems to fall into place.
Six siblings from New York—a 10-year-old, two twins, and triplets—lost a close friend to cancer. During his chemo treatments, he lost his hair, which saddened the siblings. In his honor, they decided to grow their hair long to donate to cancer patients.
They kept their plan a secret, even from their mom. As their hair grew, classmates mocked them, calling them names and saying they looked like girls. Despite the teasing, they stayed focused on their goal.
Eventually, they donated a combined 17 feet of hair. Their story shows that young children can be incredibly loving and caring.
