Transgender Athlete CeCé Telfer is Banned From Competing in Female Competitions
NEW: Transgender hurdler CeCé Telfer is devastated after World Athletics ruled that biological male athletes would be banned from competing in female world rankings competitions.
It’s insane that this is even controversial.
Telfer stands at 6-feet-2 inches and demolishes the competition.
“The overriding feeling was definitely devastation for myself and for many around the world,” Telfer said after the ruling.
Telfer won the NCAA title for *women’s* 400-meter hurdles in 2019.
“The science shows that anyone who has gone through male puberty retains male anatomical differences that provide an athletic advantage,” World Athletics said.
